Muppets

Last weekend we took James to the new Muppets movie. He does very well for movies... until the last 10 or 15 minutes. It never fails! He suddenly gets a bug up his you-know-what to "go home". But we make it through.

The Muppets movie was GREAT. I love the Muppets!

I skipped over these pictures originally but when I looked through them again they were interesting. He's just a beautiful child. I can't get enough of him sometimes.

I don't remember what we were talking about. We're always talking about something lately. He is just very chatty and entertaining.

He insisted on taking a picture of his lunch. Happy Meal!

SD Air & Space Museum & Chillaxin'

Our trip to San Diego would not be complete without a trip to The Hash House. The pancake was as monstrous as I remembered and yet I still ordered it. Jim and I went in there with a plan to share a breakfast and then we were dazzled by the menu and all plans went out the window. Oh well. We were in pancake overload but happy!

I loved the Gay Pride flags all over the 'hood we stayed in.

I wasn't too proud of this grocery store run. Junk and alcohol. Hey, whatever gets you through vacation, right?

Jim found a cool museum that we thought James would enjoy too because he loves astronauts and has taken an interest in planets, comets, stars, etc. (We hope to get a telescope one day. I think both of us have ALWAYS wanted one but we want the RIGHT one. Someday.)

Anyway, the SD Air & Space Museum was very cool. It was jam packed with cool old airplanes and space items. We could spent all day (and more) there reading all the information, but James walks through pretty quickly and leapt from one cool thing to another.

Trying out an astronaut bed.

Pretending to eat astronaut food.

The Red Baron!

A history of flight attendant uniforms. I bet the miniskirts were popular!

James really enjoyed the children's area. He LOVED this space ship house.

He really had so much fun manipulating the "floating" balls.

We saw a very cool 4D short film. The seats moved, water droplets were blasted at us, the wind blew, and the movie was in 3D. I think James was a little stunned but he did well. It was like an amusement park ride.

James and I posed in a helicopter. For James this fulfilled a lifelong dream. He had JUST told me, "I always wanted to ride in a helicopter". And there it was!

James and his Daddy in the air tower. The tower overlooked the entire museum space.

It was a great museum!

The day flew by and soon enough it was dinner. We relaxed at the hotel for a bit and then headed downstairs for the hotel's complimentary BBQ. It was so nice not to worry about finding food and everything was good. We sat poolside and enjoyed each other.

A Great Saturday

I love a relaxed morning. I also love a happy, cheerful boy who offers to help make breakfast. James had this idea that he wanted banana and chocolate chip pancake balls. I happen to love that combination so we set to work.

It's too bad James didn't like them :( He prefers the regular chocolate chip pancake balls, so I made him those instead.

We got ready for the day because we had decided to go to the movies!! We saw Tangled, one of the newest Disney movies. I actually loved it. It was a great story, with a great Princess character who didn't wait to be saved by the man. Yay!

We just HAD TO have popcorn, you know.

And then a couple of video games. James picked his Daddy's absolute FAVORITE arcade game. They worked as a team to play Galaga.

Back home for an attempt at naptime (not going so well lately), and I found James with a new outfit on. He didn't have an accident but he changed his pants and put his shirt back on backwards on purpose. I didn't mind. I was glad he didn't have an accident! One naptime last week he had an accident and changed himself, but neglected to put on another pair of underwear. Ooops.

Rough and tumble play with Daddy. They play together like I just can't :)

James has been practicing his name. He was drawing a bunch of pictures for me (love them! I will take pictures later) and later I found his signature on one piece of paper. It was a small piece of paper and I think he ran out of room for the last letter. Nice though, huh?

Finger painting later on that night. Messy.

Intense!

Look Daddy!

Fun times :)

Fun Day

April 17
How to Train Your Dragon
We took James to see this movie. We read reviews and decided that it probably wasn't too violent or scary for him, considering he likes shows like Star Wars. He did well for the movie. There were a few parts that were somewhat scary but he climbed on my lap and did well. Yay! We made it through another movie!

Afterwards James was excited to see a blaster on a video game. It took some convincing to get him to put it down. Boys!

We hit a playground later that day.

Fun day!
