Busy weekend!

On Saturday I needed to work at a district event, a family celebration of sorts. These are the Jackson kids that call me "Mexican Momma". Harvey is an 8th grader, Catherine is a 12th grader, and Cisco is a 10th grader. Catherine is probably my favorite student of all time! I see her all the time though she's been out of my school for several years now!

On Sunday we went to the Como Zoo and Como Town (amusement park). James was very excited to go to the "zoo" to see the animals. I think he knew what a zoo was from before?

He was very active and observant. His favorite thing to do was press himself right up against the glass and stand on the ledge. He was very interested in the animals.

Jim remembered from when he was a little boy that the zoo had these plastic mold machines. I had never seen one. He ended up getting James his zoo souvenir from this machine.

A gorilla!

James was more interested in his snack than the animals.

James says, "Roooooar!"

Again with the ledges.

Happy to roam, run, and look at the animal shapes on the ground.

James wanted to sit by himself to look at the ducks, geese, and flamingos.

Como Town. James was terrified at first but then was happy to be riding "Thomas".

We also rode the Teacups. The wheel in the middle allowed us to spin. James really liked it! I was afraid it was too fast and wild, but he laughed and had a great time.

We all went on the carousel but James sat with his Dada on a horse. The pictures all turned out blurry because we were in constant motion, even me with the camera.

James was relieved when the ride ended. He did NOT like the carousel.

An exhausting day for James! He fell asleep clutching his golf ball- you can see it in his hand, behind his head.

Here's a video that didn't get posted from Mother's Day weekend.
