Dear Santa

We finally sat down to write a letter to Santa. I got James started and then walked away.

I want...! No no no! I told him that that's no way to start a letter.

We changed it up.

And James asked Sneaky to deliver the letter to Santa.

And don't you worry about this list. Santa has it covered with his MasterCard!

Sneaky: December 6

We came downstairs to kitchen chaos! Every drawer and cabinet door was left open! Where does Sneaky learn this stuff from?!

Oh... I guess I am known for leaving a door or two open while cooking :)

Sneaky: December 5

A spider spun its web at the Tauer casa. Jim didn't like this. And poor Sneaky!

Sneaky: December 4

My joke with James is that one day he may receive a box of chonies (underwear) from his grandma or his Tía or someone else. And he better like it and say thank you! He always says he will.

So Sneaky brought him a box of chonies on this day! Haha!

The box was closed when he found it in the morning so anticipation was high!

And then a smirk :)

And happiness when he discovered Dove dark chocolates underneath the chonies.

And a thank you to Sneaky, just outside this view.

O

He's a good kid!

Santa Parade 2014

The Blaine fire department drives by with fully decorated fire trucks and Santa (!!!) every year. Often Jim misses it because he's at pool. This year he missed it because he was out of town. Sad face.

We joined up with some neighbor friends and decided to watch together. We waited a long, long time. The kids played together outside. The adults took turns huddling inside to keep warm. Santa ended up being about an hour late.

By that time the kids were crabby and there was a wrestling incident that made several kids crabby.

James never snapped out of it, even when Santa finally rolled around.

The firemen took our nonperishables for the local food shelf.

When we made it home I quickly snuck upstairs and arranged Sneaky like this for James to find on his way to bed.

James did see it and he hung his head down in sadness. I didn't mean to make him sad but he did end up missing out on the Santa joy because he couldn't let go of a friend conflict.

Well, we saw Santa!

Sneaky: December 3

I hoped to wake up before James to turn on the runway lights :)

Success! And I was able to use the little aviator elf outfit that I bought at Target!

Selfies for Dad

Jim was out of town. We sent him some selfies.

Sneaky: December 2

After my shift at Pizza Ranch I was much too tired to do anything elaborate with Sneaky.

Sneaky was very tired too, after his first round trip to the North Pole this year. He came home and settled down on a nice marshmallow bed!

Pizza Ranch

My school organized a night to volunteer at the Andover Pizza Ranch. There was a crew of about 12 of us that bussed tables, ran out special order pizzas, and then finally cleaned the entire place after our shift. It was a pretty fast paced almost-five hours. Oh and so we volunteered to keep the tips and then to receive 10% of the sales for the night. The money went to our school food shelf, that I help run.

Our families were invited to come and enjoy the food, but also to beef up our sales!

The Tauer boys ate with the Mesna boys.

There's Mrs. Mesna serving up some pizza.

Another CRMS family, my friend Ryan with his cute kids.

The boys kept themselves busy after they ate. What fun to hang out with Noah again!

After the guests left we were left to help with the cleanup. Omg. So much to clean. My friend Simone was pretty handy with the Ghostbusters backpack vaccum.

My usually grumpy Assistant Principal Mr. Dahl was pretty cooperative, knowing it was all for the kids. All bark, no bite!

This is the crew of us that made it for the entire shift. Some of the others had to get home to families, etc.

I've already deposited that money in my food shelf account and it will be spent and appreciated!

Next time we'll invite even more people to the event- even you!

Sneaky: December 1

We've all been waiting for this.

Sneaky is baaaaaaaaaaacccccccckkkkkkkkkkkk!

He arrived on December 1st via North Pole mail.

James was pretty excited but he didn't think Sneaky was much of a present.

He wanted my help to get Sneaky out (without touching him of course) because he was convinced there was more present inside.

Grrrr argh. I was not discouraged!

Gamer

At the end of November I got James addicted to an iPad game based on the Simpsons. We are "friends" in the game and can visit each other's towns. Kinda fun :)

Charlie Brown Holidays

Grandma Laura loves Charlie Brown and the gang. We knew it would be perfect to go to a holiday play with her. I'm so glad that I found this option and Jim was able to buy the tickets for us to go!

The play was at the Old Log Theatre. It was quite the drive away! We first had brunch in this fancy little cafe attached to the theatre. And then it was time for us to get some Charlie Brown holiday cheer!

I couldn't take pictures during the play, but these are parts of the sets.

The play was pretty good!

It's really Christmas time!

Soon after Thanksgiving Jim gets our Christmas tree.

This year we found a nice little surprise in the tree.

James had a friend over, Sawyer, and he also took a look.

Neighbor friends ventured on to the pond. It was late November- I thought way too soon! I watched closely in case someone needed to call 911!

The stockings were hung...

James and his Dad put on the traditional star.

He's getting too big to be lifted, yet he's too small to do it alone.

"Mom, I think you have enough Eiffel Tower ornaments..."

And done!

Later on our little Chef helped with pizzas.

He ate very enthusiastically this night- he made special requests for tomatoes and lettuce on his pizza. Whatever works!

Looking forward to a great holiday!
