Walking through the neighborhood, driving in the car, even strolling through the aisles of Target- James is able to spot pumpkins everywhere. So Halloween was right up his alley! Even Tia's (early) birthday cake was a pumpkin.
James dressed as Batman at daycare, where Sandra took the kids door to door through her own neighborhood. She had arranged ahead of time to knock on their doors, and they had pre-packaged goody bags for each of the kids. Thoughtful! She said James did really well and really got into walking around and trick or treating.
At home, Grandma Bucka (Rosie) was there to greet us when we got home from daycare. She made a great dinner because we were all gathering for James' 2nd Halloween of the day. Tia Ana and Tio Rich came over too. Grandpa Larry (Bucko) too! We were practicing "Tia" with James before Ana arrived, and he cracked us up by calling her "ChaCha". So Tia Ana is now known as ChaCha until James is better able to pronounce Tia :)
We walked James to the neighbors across the street. He wore his costume but not the Batman mask. He wouldn't tolerate that. He also carried his plastic pumpkin (from Bucka) and had his pumpkin flashlight handy.
Grandma Laura and Uncle Joe joined us later in the evening. It was like a family party, as Jim said :)
We received Tia Kristina's birthday gift early and I was given special permission to assemble it and let James enjoy it early. Yay!
Here is James sitting at the dining table like a big boy. He's been a little fussy sitting at the higchair so we experimented today. He did well, a little messy but he had fun.
