Getting ready for Santa!

We made gingerbread boys because it's one of James' expectations for Christmas preparations. He has a wonderful book that his Grandma Laura gave him last year and it gives a few details about the sweet smells of Christmas (hot chocolate, candy canes, pine trees, apple pies, and of course gingerbread boys.)

James is getting quite good at decorating cookies. I just need to put the squeeze bottles of royal icing and some sprinkles in front of him and he's good to go!

Even his drippings are artsy!

I decorated a few too.

That night we put out a cookie, some milk, and of course some carrots for the reindeers. James went to bed quite easily.

I set the timer on my camera and we took one last picture before bedtime.


After James was safely in bed we put out the few presents that we wanted him to open before our families arrived for Christmas Eve and then Christmas Day.
