Our neighborhood Spanish Immersion pals set up a night to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children. I've done this before with my students and so I was glad to have James experience this. And as a family!
We put on our required headwear...
And got to work!
We joined up with another family to fill up a station, and we each had assigned jobs.
James used his math skills to count and then load up the boxes, according to the diagram.
We rotated jobs every once in a while to keep it interesting.
James loved the experience. We learned that our group packed 13,176 meals! That's a lot of kids that will get nutritious meals!
We really need to do this again soon!
